How to Sew a Book Mark

A wonderfully simple and useful make for anyone starting to sew.

The first in a new series of “10 Minute Marvel” tutorials. A collection of simple How To’s esy enough for a beginner, all of which take under 10 minutes to make.

Please let me know how long this project took you to complete in the comments below and share your photos using #10minutemarvel.

However please note that I do not include the time it takes to gather your fabric goodies from shop or stash…. I know how long can be lost wandering through ailes of fabric, dribbling over buttons etc….

If you want to see behind the scenes photos for the creation of this project please check out my instagram feed at www.instagram.com/afieryphoenix

The Bookmark is an excellent start to the series being a particularly fast make. You can use scraps from your stash and up-cycle the elastic from a skirt waistband for a completely free project!

You Will Need:

  • 10 inches of elastic any width, end length will be about 3- inches
  • two strips of fabric 3 inches longer than your book is tall and about 2 inches wide
  • co-ordinating threads
  • sewing machine
  • iron and pressing board

The text instructions follow on the next page if you don’t have time for a video.

Sharing is caring!
