Owl Shawl CAL
Created by fledgling crochet designer Babs Rudlin, the Owl Shawl is a gorgeous crochet pattern which is perfect for the summer CAL (Crochet Along).
The Owl Shawl is based upon the freely available Virus Shawl. I became increasingly frustrated with the stitch counts contained in the original. So I tweaked the numbers and created this slightly different, and I believe more intuitive version.
I have created a detailed written pattern, available in both US and UK terms.
As with the original virus shawl this will be a FREE pattern, one more accommodating to beginner crochet lovers.
I am running a Crochet-Along for this pattern where you can find others photos for inspiration and live Q&A videos through the Facebook Group “Yarn Jugglers”
Perfect for a gradiated yarn or mixed colourway I hope you will enjoy the Owl Shawl.
If you haven’t taken part in a CAL before, it is a friendly, supportive, and very enjoyable way of becoming part of a small crochet community, sharing your progress and getting hints and tips from an online group of fellow crocheters, all creating the same item.
If you prefer, you can create your Owl Shawl on your own as an ongoing project. It is not necessary to start on the 17th August 2016 when the CAL begins, and many people start partway through, or at a later date.
The Owl Shawl Crochet Along is an ideal opportunity for nervous crocheters, or beginners who have mastered the basic stitches and would like to improve their skills.
