Business Link, the government run provider of advice and information for UK run businesses has created a new database detailing service providers for the southeast.
www.supplierbrokerage.org.uk - is a service that matches businesses seeking support via Business Link with suppliers of consultancy services that can help them achieve their goals. The service enables business to business consultancies, including web and IT specialists such as Fiery Phoenix, to register and describe their services on a Business Link supplier brokerage database.
The Supplier Brokerage Service is a database of suppliers which Business Link in the East of England uses to identify suppliers offering the services its customers' need to help start, develop and grow their businesses.
When customers come to Business Link for information or advice, and their progress requires the engagement of a professional supplier (such as a business consultant or adviser), the Supplier Brokerage Service database is used to match customers needs with supplier capabilities and experience.
On completing a simple registration and verification process, details of suppliers' value added services are then available for search by all Business Link Advisers looking for providers of services that will help satisfy the needs of their clients. In addition, new business start-ups will be using the database to find suppliers through whom they can access the expert services they need and paid for (in part or full) by one or other of the eVouchers offered by Business Link – the value of which is expected to be around £1.5 million/ annum across the region.
As reported on the Enterprising Women website:
Roger Riseley, head of the information team at Business Link said: “This is great news for suppliers of consultancy services, providing them with a route into the potential market of over 95,000 businesses with which Business Link expects to engage each year. It is also great news for clients of Business Link services, providing them with an assured route to access expert providers of the services they need to develop and grow their businesses.”
Pat Smith, CEO of Business Link said: “The launch of www.supplierbrokerage.org.uk shows our commitment at Business Link to offering free, impartial advice to businesses as they develop. The beauty of the service is that every business in the East of England has something to gain. While consultancies get the chance to put themselves in front of businesses across the region, those who need such services are able to save time and effort in sourcing the right partners to work with. Business Link’s Supplier Brokerage Service offers a “win-win” to both consultancy and client communities.”
